Volcano Art Center is pleased to present the Volcano Chamber Players, who will perform a classical music concert to celebrate Mother’s Day at 4 p.m. on Sunday, May 12, at VAC’s Dietrich Varez Hall in Volcano Village.
Treat your mother or yourself to an afternoon of fine chamber music. Beverages and pupu will be available for purchase. The concert is a special tribute to mothers and will entertain the entire family.

Susan McGovern was born and raised in Honolulu and began violin studies when she was 10. She graduated with a degree in music education from University of Hawaii at Manoa. She is a member of the Kamuela Philharmonic Orchestra, Orchid Isle Orchestra and Chamber Orchestra of Kona.
Kelly Stuart is a cellist based on the Big Island. Her career has taken her around the world, performing for musical theater chamber ensembles and as a solo artist.
Cathy Young is a violinist, violist, pianist, cellist, conductor and music arranger. She studied piano privately from age 6, and viola at age 8 in the Alexandria City Public Schools in Virginia. She plays violin and viola with the Kamuela Philharmonic Orchestra.
Alden Young was born and raised in Keaau and began playing piano and the violin at age 3. He graduated with a music degree in violin performance. Alden has soloed and performed with the Kamuela Philharmonic Orchestra. Currently, he is concertmaster of the Orchid Isle Orchestra, where he recently performed the famous Accolay Violin Concerto.
