“STARS is an immersive experience aimed at inspiring young women to pursue STEM-related studies and careers,” said STARS coordinator Chris Yoakum in a press release. “Participants will engage in a diverse range of activities, including presentations by accomplished women in STEM, exclusive behind-the-scenes tours at leading science facilities, and hands-on workshops covering various aspects of coding and technology.
“STARS is all about showing young women what’s possible for their futures,” he added. “We aim to foster a supportive environment where students can explore their interests, connect with mentors and mentorship opportunities, and learn about what STEM careers are really like from women who work in them.”
