Raymond Stephen Benevides, 92, of Hilo died May 15 at Life Care Center of Hilo. Born in Hilo, he was a retired custodian for Waiakea Elementary School, retired U.S. Army staff sergeant and member of St. Joseph Catholic Church. Private family services at a later date. Survived by wife, Betty Joan Leilani Benevides of Hilo; children, Dwayne (Stella) Benevides of Oahu, Francesca L.B. (Michael C.) DeMattos of Oahu and Raymond (Perry V. Hayes) Benevides of Los Angeles; sister-in-law, Helen Shirota Benevides of Pepeekeo; two grandchildren. Arrangements by Dodo Mortuary.

Alexandra “Alika” Kaleinohea Cooke Kaaua, 82, of Waimea died June 13, 2023, at Hale Anuenue Restorative Care Center in Hilo. Born in Aiea, Oahu, she was a retail manager and customer service agent. Funeral service and reception 10 a.m. Saturday, June 8, at St. James Episcopal Church in Waimea. No flowers. Memorial donations to St. James Episcopal Church. Cade Kenneth Kuamoo, 51, of Hilo died May 11 at Hilo Benioff Medical Center. Born in Hilo, he was a laborer for the county Department of Public Works Road Maintenance Division and a member of The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints Keaukaha Ward. Visitation 9-10:30 a.m. Tuesday (June 4) at The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints Hilo Stake Center at 1373 Kilauea Ave. Funeral service at 11 a.m. Burial to follow at Alae Cemetery, Mormon Section. Casual attire. Priscilla Kehaulani Matsuoka, 78, of Waimea died May 4 at Queen’s North Hawaii Community Hospital. Born in Hana, Maui, she was a homemaker. Services in Hana at a later date. Wayne M.K. Moku, 73, of Hilo died April 30 at St. Francis Hospice in Honolulu. Born in Honolulu, he was a retired assistant superintendent of construction and maintenance for the former Hawaii Electric Light Co., member of The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints and HELCO Golf Club, and U.S. Army veteran.
