Hawaii Island public school students, charter school students, private school students and a homeschooler displayed their water conservation knowledge and artistic creativity in the 6th Annual Keiki Water Conservation Poster Contest held by the Hawaii County Department of Water Supply.
Open to K-6 students, the contest drew more than 200 entries.
“Water is Life” was the contest theme to emphasize the importance of conserving drinking water to protect and preserve the island’s most precious resource now and for future generations.
The department’s mission is to provide customers with an adequate and continuous supply of safe drinking water in a financially responsible manner.
Poster entries were judged, and a winner and runner-up from each grade level were awarded prizes and recognition.
DWS extends its appreciation to all the students and their teachers for taking the time to participate. Please visit www.hawaiidws.org/dws-water-conservation-poster-contest-2024/ to view all the poster entries.
