Kenneth Takeo “Bosho” Komatsu, 82, of Hilo, died May 30 at Hilo Benioff Medical Center. Born in Hilo, he was retired state Department of Health vector control inspector and a food preparation instructor for the Peace Corps. Private services were held. No flowers or koden (monetary gifts). Survived by wife, Leatrice Komatsu of Hilo; son, Marc (Christopher) Komatsu of Las Vegas; brother, Donald Komatsu of Hilo; sister-in-law, Sandra (Aaron) Hirano of Hilo; nieces, nephews and cousins. Nalani-Helena “Budah” “Nalanz” Lokelaulani Honeygirl Palakiko-Konanui, 41, of Hilo and Pahoa, died June 1 at home. Born in Torrance, Calif., she was a caregiver. Celebration of life Saturday 10 a.m. Saturday, June 29, at New Hope Hilo, 840 Kupulau Rd. Luncheon to follow at Moku Ola (Coconut Island). Casual attire; flowers welcome.
