Born in Laupahoehoe, she was a retired reservations agent for the Mauna Lani resort, former salesclerk at Village Pharmacy in Waimea, member of Waimea Senior Citizens, Alu Like, involved with MADD Hawaii and volunteered with numerous organizations and community clubs.
