Honpa Hongwanji Hilo Betsuin on Saturday will present “the largest Garage Sale in Hilo” after a six-year break.

The much-anticipated Garage Sale will be held from 7 a.m. to 11 a.m. at the Sangha Hall, 424 Kilauea Ave.

Seasoned co-chairs Karen Maedo and Jane Iida, along with Edwin Hara and Burt Tsuchiya, expressed how blessed they are to receive truckloads of items generously donated by church members and friends.

The Sangha Hall will be filled with items such as kitchenware (including Japanese bowls, plates, platters), small appliances, knick-knacks, artwork, etc.

Also, books, toys, games, household goods, clothes for everyone, fabric, purses, jewelry — all of which will be on sale at bargain prices.

Come early for the best selection of goods. Payment in cash only. No credit cards or checks.

Admission is free, and there is ample parking.

The Garage Sale is the largest money-raising project for the Honpa Hongwanji Hilo Betsuin, and funds are used for temple activities including youth activities such as martial arts, Japanese school, and more.
