A judge maintained bail Monday for a Hilo couple who face numerous offenses following a search warrant served early Sunday morning at their Ponahawai Street residence.
Hilo District Judge Jeffrey Hawk maintained bail at $100,000 for 31-year-old Dillon Royden Daimen Revilla and $40,000 for 33-year-old Latoya-Lynn Pilialoha Spalding-Poepoe, and ordered both to return to court Wednesday for a preliminary hearing.
According to the Hawaii Police Department, the Special Response Team — the department’s SWAT unit —and crisis negotiators accompanied East Hawaii’s Crime Reduction Unit and Criminal Investigation Section in executing a search warrant on a home in the 600 block of Ponahawai Street.
Police say the raid was the culmination of several separate vehicle theft investigations and an abuse incident spanning the past several months in various locations on the island.
Revilla was charged with two counts each of unauthorized control of a stolen vehicle, first-degree terroristic threatening and second-degree assault, plus single counts of first-degree criminal property damage, first-degree theft, habitual property crime, domestic abuse, driving without a license, violating probation and violating terms of release.
Spalding-Poepoe was charged with unauthorized entry to a motor vehicle, habitual property crime, fourth-degree theft and three counts of violating terms of release.
According to police, there were no reported injuries to Revilla, Spalding-Poepoe, other tenants of the residence or police personnel. Officers closed a portion of Ponahawai Street for about 90 minutes during the execution of the search warrant and the arrest of the suspects.
