Michael “Mike” Preston Everett, 85, of Mountain View died July 22 at Yukio Okutsu State Veterans Home in Hilo. Born in Mooney Creek, Kan., he was a U.S. Navy retiree and Vietnam War veteran, employee of the former Burns International Security and Molokai General Hospital and member of Veterans of Foreign Wars Post 3830 and Big Island Coin Club. Visitation 9-10:30 a.m. Saturday, Sept. 14, at Dodo Mortuary Chapel. Memorial service at 10:30 a.m. Casual attire. Survived by wife, Ivonne Tengan Everett of Mountain View; sons, Paul (Raimee) Everett of Mountain View, Kimo Everett of Indianola, Iowa, and Keith Everett of Mountain View; daughter, Trudi (Kyle Toma) Everett of Hilo; sister, Candace “Candy” (Donald) Winterscheidt of Aurora, Colo.; brothers, Patrick (Helen) Everett Sr. of Centennial, Colo., Gary (Marilyn Michales) Everett of Naples, Fla., and Jack “Butch” Everett of Sugar Lake, Mo.; six grandchildren; nieces and nephews. Rosalina Peneyra Rosario, 84, of Pahala and Hilo died July 30 at her Hilo home. Born in San Juan (Lapog), Ilocos Sur, Philippines, she was a server/cashier at the former Punaluu Village Restaurant, Green Sands Fountain, Volcano Country Club and Volcano House, member of Pahala Holy Rosary Church and Pahala Senior Citizens. Visitation 8-10 a.m. Saturday, Sept. 14, at Pahala Holy Rosary Church. Mass at 10 a.m. Burial to follow. Survived by sons, Robert (Sherlene) Rosario of Pahala and Albert (Sabrina) Rosario of Kona; daughter, Rhondalyn (Van) Dalere of Hilo; sisters, Remigia Gascon of Pahala and Norma (Lydia) Gascon of Honolulu; sister-in-law, Lolita Peneyra of Philippines. 16 grandchildren and 14 great grandchildren; nieces and nephews. Glenn Clifford Shiroma, 72, of Mountain View, died Aug. 4, at home. Born in Hilo, he was the owner of Scale Systems Hawaii.
