Four of the drivers were involved in a traffic accident. None were younger than 21.
The numbers of arrests by district were: Kona, 10; Hilo, eight; Puna and South Kohala, two each.
So far this year, there have been 636 DUI arrests compared to 624 during the same period last year, an increase 1.9%.
There have been 650 major crashes so far this year compared to 550 during the same time last year, an increase of 18.2%.
To date, there have been 21 official fatalities, with one traffic death reclassified as a suicide, one reclassified as a medical condition, and one dying more than 30 days after the collision.
That compares to 11 official fatalities, with one dying more than 30 days later, at the same time last year. This represents an increase 90.9% for fatalities.
DUI roadblocks and patrols will continue islandwide, police said.
