Antoinette “Toni” “Tonette” Doreen Vierra Ha Castillo, 71, of Keaau died Aug. 9 at Kaiser Moanalua Medical Center in Honolulu. Born in Pahala, she was a 1972 graduate of Hilo High School, usher at the Palace Theater, worked at the Hawaii Tribune-Herald for 18 years, was a foster parent for the Casey Family Program and member of Hilo Seventh-day Adventist Church. John Correa Silva, 95, of Ookala, died Aug. 22 at Yukio Okutsu State Veterans Home in Hilo. Born in Honolulu, he was a retired U.S. Army staff sergeant who served during the Korean War and Vietnam era, loved yardwork and growing orchids and anthuriums.
