DOE to restore six more East Hawaii school bus routes on Monday

The state Department of Education announced today that six previously suspended school bus routes in East Hawaii will be reinstated starting Monday.

The latest restored routes will be serviced by bus service providers Ground Transport Inc., Roberts Hawaii and Polynesian Adventures.

Parents and guardians of student riders will be notified directly of restored routes and any necessary route modifications, according to the DOE.

The following school bus routes will resume service Monday.

Hilo-Waiakea Complex Area: two routes

— Hilo Intermediate (TR05A, TR06A)

— Hilo High (TR05A, TR06A)

Ka‘u-Keaau-Pahoa Complex Area: four routes

— Keaau High (SR33A, SR33B)

— Pahoa High & Intermediate (SR11A, SR13A)

Efforts to restore the remaining suspended bus routes are ongoing. More updates will be provided as additional bus routes are restored.
