WAIMEA — Back by popular demand, Hawaii Symphony Orchestra concertmaster and celebrated violinist Iggy Jang returns to Kahilu Theatre at 7 p.m. on Saturday with his electrifying dance and music performance, “Tango Extravaganza.”
This one-of-a-kind event showcases a spectacular lineup of world-renowned talent, led by Jang himself, according to a Kahilu press release.
Joining Jang on the Kahilu main stage are the dance duo Martin Almiron and Fernanda Ghi, bandoneon maestro Rodolfo Zanetti, acclaimed pianist Emiliano Messiez, and Hawaii’s own guitarist Ian O’Sullivan and bassist Shawn Conley.
“Together, these artists will bring the passionate and evocative world of Tango to life, whisking the audience away to the heart of Buenos Aires with every beat and step,” according to the press release.
“Tango is a language that reflects the diverse influences of the many cultures that helped define it. It is about the land, nostalgia and communication,” Ghi said in the press release.
