Iris Noelani Eggers, 64, of Mountain View died Aug. 31 at Hilo Benioff Medical Center. Born in Hilo, she was a homemaker and a member of Kauaha‘ao Congregational Church. Private services held. Survived by husband, Ronald Eggers of Mountain View; sons, Preston (April) Kekoa of Naalehu, Ka‘eo (Marie) Eggers of Pahoa and Ka‘u (Keani) Eggers of Ewa, Oahu; daughters, Brenda Kekoa of Naalehu, Loke Gali of Keaau and Elsie Eggers of Mountain View; brothers, Calvin (Sarah) Gali of Kailua-Kona and Conley (Kari) Gali of Santa Clara, Utah; sisters, Colleen (Bill) Gundaker of Discovery Harbour, Misty (Joe) Puna of Naalehu and Dossi (Wale) Tavaiqia of Pittsburgh; 23 grandchildren and four great grandchildren; aunts, uncles, cousins, nieces and nephews. Grace Fumie Iwamoto, 97, of Kailua-Kona died Aug. 27 at Kona Community Hospital in Kealakekua. Born in Hilo, she was a retired cashier at KTA Super Stores in Kailua-Kona and member of Kona Hongwanji and Kailua Shita Kumiai. Private services held. No flowers or koden (monetary gifts). Survived by husband, Francis Iwamoto; children, Linda (Larry) Shiro, Edwin Iwamoto, Donna Williams, Jasmine Iwamoto and Ronald (Akemi) Iwamoto; four grandchildren and three great-grandchildren; nieces and nephews. Dale Eugene Geiger, 84, of Kailua-Kona, formerly of Athens, W.Va., died July 24. He was retired from Concord College, now Concord University, in Athens as director of Student Residential Life, and was an instructor, baseball coach, play-by-play radio and public address football announcer, a member of Athens’ Volunteer Fire Department, including its chief. He was involved in Child Protect of Mercer County and the Children’s Home Society of West Virginia, a member of Concord United Methodist Church of Athens, and attended Sacred Heart Catholic Church of Princeton, W.Va. Memorial plans pending. No flowers.
