Emma Kam Shin Lau, M.Ed., FNP, 98, of Honolulu, formerly of Hilo, died Aug. 17. Born in Honolulu, she was a maternity nurse at the former Hilo Hospital, public health nurse, former Keaukaha Maternity Clinic Director and Hawaii Community College nursing instructor. After state retirement she was vice president at Interim Healthcare and manager of the former Catholic Charities Residential Adult Care program for Big Island. She graduated from Kaimuki High School, Queen’s Nursing School, University of Hawaii at Manoa and University of Virginia, and was a member of United Community (Chinese) Church, serving as its treasurer. Private services. No flowers or koden. Memoial donations to the University of Hawaii foundation, CVS Director of Nursing Practice or UH-Hilo Nurse-Practitioner program.
