Henry Sweetleimamo Evangelista Jr., 67 of Pahoa died Sept. 1 at home. He was an entrepreneur, owning Kukui Boy Products, distributor of wholesale and retail manufacturing of food products, catering, preparing meals for the Alu Like Kupuna program, owner of the Waiakea Kai Cafe and Snack Shop serving local-style foods, Mamo-Ulu Creations, a local attire company, musician and songwriter, artist, and man of many talents who received the Golden Hammer Award for the Class of 1975 at Pahoa High School. Private services with cremation to follow. Survived by daughter, Lesly Makamae S. (Damon) Remmers; son, Layne Mohala (Ku‘uhoni) Wong-Evangelista; mother of his children, Ululani Tammy Evangelista; partner, Jackie Markham; sisters, Sandy Evangelista, Emmalyn Evangelista of Hilo and Heather (Christian)Kubo of Puna, four grandchildren and four great-grandchildren; nieces and nephews. Michael Dane Kuheana, 76, of Hilo died Sept. 15 at home. Born in Pahala, he was a retired Nani Mau Gardents groundskeeper, construction worker, Hawaii. He worked in Construction and retired from Nani Mau Gardens as a groundskeeper. U.S Army veteran and a member of the Forestry Club. Visitation 4-6 p.m. Thursday, Oct. 17, at Dodo Mortuary Chapel. Wake service at 6 p.m. Visitation again 9-10 a.m. Friday, Oct. 18, at Dodo Mortuary Chapel. Funeral service at 10 a.m. Graveside service at East Hawaii Veterans Cemetery No. 2 Pavilion with burial to follow. A luncheon to follow at Haili’s Tent in Panaewa Park. Survived by wife, Faye “Suko” Kuheana of Hilo; sons, Denton (Gene) Kuheana-Souza of Oahu and Makoa (Abby) Kuheana of Hilo; daughter, Misty (Morris) Kuheana of Hilo; hanai children, Mary Jane Victorino, Roydene (Brian) Fiesta, Taquisha (Loki) Noclain and Zasha Nobriga of Hawaiian Paradise Park, Hawaii; 19 grandchildren and 19 great-grandchildren; nieces, nephews and cousins. Louis Stephen Perreira Jr., 82, of Hilo died Aug. 28 at home. Born in Hilo, he was a retired garage supervisor for Kulani Correctional Facility and member of St. Joseph Catholic Church. Yolanda Marie Correia Salagubong, 46, of Pahoa died Aug. 28 at Hilo Benioff Medical Center. Born on Kauai, she was a cook for the former La Bamba Mexican Restaurant on Kauai.
