Born in Hilo, she was a retired medical records technician for the former Hilo Hospital and member of Honpa Hongwanji Hilo Betsuin, Buddhist Women’s Association and Kyodan Choir, Kinney Heights Kumiai, Kamana Senior Center and Red Hat Society of Hilo. Dwight Yoji Matsuyama, 71, of Oahu, formerly of Kona, died May 25 at Maui Memorial Hospital. A 1970 graduate of Konawaena High School, he co-owned Matsuyama Construction and Matsuyama Brothers Trucking, worked for Drayko Construction, Del Monte and Honsador, and enjoyed gardening, cooking, traveling and quality time with family and friends. Celebration of life held Sept. 8 in Kailua-Kona.
