UPDATE: Route 190 reopens following crash
UPDATE 11:20 a.m.
All lanes are now open on Route 190 between the DKI Highway and Waikoloa Road, according to police.

Police say Mamalahoa Highway (Route 190) is closed in both directions between the Daniel K. Inouye Highway and Waikoloa Road junctions in South Kohala due to a traffic crash.
Police expect the closure to continue until at least noon while the road is cleared and officers investigate the collision.
Motorists are advised to please avoid this section of Highway 190 until the road is reopened.
Drivers can commute between Kona and Waimea on Route 190 via DKI and old Saddle Road or by using Queen Kaahumanu Highway (Route 19).
