The Hawaii Lodging &Tourism Association Charity Walk 2024 took place on Saturday, June 22, at Waikoloa Resort. The annual event brought together participants and supporters from across the community, with all proceeds going to local charities and nonprofits.
In addition to the Charity Walk, a special Charity Golf Day was held on Saturday, April 20, at Mauna Lani to further support the fundraising efforts.
Thanks to the generosity of participants, sponsors and supporters, HLTA has announced that a record $500,000 will be distributed to more than 65 charities and nonprofits across the Big Island, making a meaningful impact on the community.
HLTA President and CEO Mufi Hannemann expressed his appreciation for the community’s support.
“For decades, Charity Walk has brought together the visitor industry to give back and show deep appreciation for our community,” Hannemann said in a press release. We are proud of our 2024 efforts across the state raising a record $3 million and particularly with our colleagues on the Big Island, where record funds were raised. Charity Walk continues to raise important funds for hundreds of local non profits and charities across our islands.”
“The HLTA Charity Walk is a testament to the incredible unity and generosity of our visitor industry,” said Charlie Parker, regional vice president and general manager of Four Seasons Resort Hualalai, who is currently serving as the Hawaii Island HLTA chair and Hawaii Island Charity Walk chair. “It’s truly heartwarming to see everyone come together to celebrate and support the vital work that our local charities and non-profits do for our community here on the Big Island.”
