The nonprofit Ku‘ikahi Mediation Center of Hilo will host a free talk on Nov. 21 as part of its “Finding Solutions, Growing Peace” Brown Bag Lunch Series.
Talks are third Thursdays from 12 noon to 1 p.m. via Zoom.
This month’s speaker is Anne Marie Smoke on the topic “Hot Buttons: Building Emotional Resilience in Triggering Moments.”
“Are you ever set off by something someone said and don’t know why it bugs you?” asks Smoke. “Does a particular situation or personality type stir an unexpected emotional response? We all have ‘hot buttons’ that can easily be pushed, often to our detriment.”
In this interactive talk, learn how to recognize your triggers so you can master your internal landscape and more effectively navigate difficult situations.

Ku‘ikahi’s Brown Bag Lunch Series is free and open to the public.
Attendees are encouraged to enjoy an informal and educational talk-story session and connect with others interested in “Finding Solutions, Growing Peace.”
