Please join the Friends of Hawaii Volcanoes National Park for their 5th Annual Holidays in Kahuku.

This free family-friendly event is 9 a.m. to 3 p.m. on Saturday, Dec. 7, at HVNP’s Kahuku Unit (Highway 11 at mile marker 70.5).

The emcee is Alya-Joy Kanehailua, and there will be a hula performance by Halau Ke ‘Olu Makani O Mauna Loa under the direction of kumu Hula Meleana Manuel.

There will be music all day featuring South Side Symphony performing classical music, the Kipapa Sisters performing Hawaiian music, Volcano Choy performing Jazz, and the Hot Potaytahs band performing rock & roll.

Crafters from Ka‘u and beyond will be selling their locally made items – jewelry, pottery, pottery, stain glass, holiday decorations and more.

Food will be available for purchase by The Hawaiian Civic Club of Ka‘u and 4 Scoops of Aloha.

Friend of Hawaii Volcanoes National Park will have free shave ice minis and face-painting. Santa will have gift bags for the first 200 keiki.

Friend’s logo merchandise and memberships will be for sale, with proceeds supporting park projects and programs.
