Born in Kohala, he was a retired landscaper for Paukea Bay Ranch and previously was a laborer for Kohala Plantation, nursery worker in the Cooling Plant in Waimea and logger/woodchipper for Capital Woodchipper Co. in Hamakua. Celebration of life 11 a.m.-4 p.m. Saturday, Dec. 14 at Keokea Beach Park in Kapaau. George Douglas Coit, 79, of Keaau died Nov. 10 at Hilo Benioff Medical Center. Born in North Kohala, he was a retired diesel and construction equipment mechanic, retired U.S. Army Reserves staff sergeant, master upholster and member of Big Island VW Club-Hilo Chapter. Services held. Survived by wife, Kathleen Coit; son, Dwayne Coit; daughters, Karen Coit and Koren (Darrel) Nagasako; a granddaughter; brothers- and sisters-in-law; cousins, nieces and nephews. Everett R. Kaisen, 75, of Hilo died Oct. 28 at Hawaii Care Choices Pohai Malama Care Home in Hilo.
