HILO — Hilo and Waiakea boys soccer partook in a crosstown matchup Friday in Hilo, with the result ending in a 1-1 draw.
Louis Perroy scored the hosting Warriors’ goal, while Brennan Barrientos scored the Vikings’ lone goal.
Waiakea (1-1-1) will next take the pitch at 5 p.m. Friday in Kea‘au, taking on the Cougars.
Hilo (0-1-1) will host Konawaena at 2 p.m. Tuesday at Wong Stadium.
Following the boys match, Waiakea girls routed Hilo 5-1 on Friday at Waiakea High.
Kalia Franklin led the winning Lady Warriors with an impressive four-goal performance, followed by teammate Charlie Silva with one goal.
Aneala Sibayan scored the Lady Vikings’ only goal.
Waiakea remains unbeaten at 3-0-0, and will next take the pitch today against Ka‘u at 3 p.m. in Pahala. Hilo (1-1-1) will host Konawaena at 4 p.m. Tuesday.

Konawaena girls soccer blasted Ka‘u on Saturday at Julian R. Yates Field, winning 19-0.

The Warriors’ Gabriel Arquitola scored both goals for the winning team, while Brodie Buczyna scored Ka Makani’s lone goal.
Unbeaten KSH (3-0-0) will look to keep its hot start going against Konawaena at 2 p.m. Friday at home.
HPA (1-1-0) next plays local rival Parker at 3 p.m. Friday in Waimea.

Following KSH boys’ victory over HPA, the girls team did the same against Ka Makani — blanking the visitors 3-0 at home.
Kahalia Huddleston, Alyssa Hurdman and Madisyn Meyers scored a goal apiece for the Lady Warriors.
