Solomon Kekukulupa‘aokeolamauloaokahikihouanamaionahanahouokalani “Kukulu” Akau, 85, of Kawaihae died Sept. 13 at The Queen’s Medical Center in Honolulu. Born in Kawaihae, he was a retiree from Global International in Kwajalein, U.S. Army veteran and member of The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints, Waimea 1st Ward. Visitation 9-10 a.m. Saturday, Jan. 18, at The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints in Waimea. Memorial service at 10 a.m. Urn burial to follow at Waimea County Cemetery, Mormon Section. Casual attire. Survived by wife, Erwine Akau; sons, Abraham Abraham, Alwinson Mongkeya, Gallup Mongkeya, Kaduffy Mike and JR Akau; daughters, Ruth Cosare, Caleen Abraham, Alicy Mongkeya, Larengu Mongkeya, Lola-Lurreane Mongkeya, Jess Akau and Kehaulani Akau Sperry; sister, Wilma Nance of Galveston, Texas; grandchildren and great-granchildren; cousins, nieces and nephews.
