Hawaii County’s Department of Environmental Management has scheduled tree trimming along the driveway entrance to the Keaau Transfer Station between 8 a.m. and 4:45 p.m. daily from Jan. 14-16.

The work will require intermittent lane closures at the driveway entrance, and access to the public water spigots will be limited during this time. To ensure public safety, the following measures will be in place:

— A traffic control contractor and two officers will be onsite throughout the duration of the project.

— Incoming vehicles will be given priority to minimize backups onto Highway 130. Motorists exiting the facility are advised to expect delays.

— An electronic sign board will be near the station to notify the public of the upcoming work and to anticipate delays.
