This USGS compilation of videos shows views of “Episode 9” of the eruption of Kilauea volcano in Halema‘uma‘u crater on Tuesday evening. Lava fountains reached heights up to 200 feet.

The on again, off again eruption of Kilauea resumed at 10:16 a.m. Tuesday but stopped this morning at 8:43 a.m. after more than 22 hours of lava fountaining from the north and south vents in the crater.

The initial eruption started on Dec, 23, 2024.

No changes have been detected in the East Rift Zone or Southwest Rift Zone, HVO reported.
