Green receives list of nominees for Big Island judgeship
The state Judicial Selection Committee has sent four nominees to Gov. Josh Green to fill a vacancy left by the retirement of Kona Circuit Judge Robert D.S. Kim in July 2024.
The nominees are:

• Mark D. Disher, a deputy corporation counsel for Hawaii County. Disher is a graduate of the William S. Richardson School of Law at the University of Hawaii at Manoa.
• Brandon K. Flores, assistant administrator of the Child Support Enforcement Agency in the state attorney general’s office. Flores is a graduate of the William S. Richardson School of Law at UH-Manoa.
• Kauanoe A.D. Jackson, a Hawaii County deputy prosecutor. Jackson is a graduate of the Chapman University School of Law, known now as the Dale E. Fowler School of Law.
• Scott K.D. Shishido, currently the Hawaii Island managing attorney for the Legal Aid Society of Hawaii. Shishido is a graduate of the William S. Richardson School of Law at UH-Manoa.
Green must make his appointment by Friday, March 28.
