Timberwolves’ Anthony Edwards posts 44 points in win over Suns
(FLM) — Anthony Edwards recorded 44 points, seven assists and five rebounds to help the Minnesota Timberwolves post a 116-98 victory over the host Phoenix Suns on Sunday night.
Donte DiVincenzo scored 24 points on a season-high eight 3-pointers and also had a career-best six steals as Minnesota won for just the third time in the past nine games.

Julius Randle, returning after a 13-game absence due to a right groin strain, scored 20 points and Jaden McDaniels added 13 points, seven rebounds and three steals for the Timberwolves.
The splurge marked Edwards’ sixth effort of 40 or more points this season. He made six 3-pointers in his return after drawing a one-game suspension for technical foul accumulation (16).
Kevin Durant registered 26 points and 10 rebounds for the Suns, who lost for the 11th time in the past 14 games. Bradley Beal scored 18 points and Devin Booker had 17 for Phoenix.
Lakers hold off late Clippers rally to notch 6th straight win
(FLM) — Luka Doncic scored 29 points with six rebounds and nine assists as the short-handed Los Angeles Lakers continued their surge into March with a 108-102 victory over the visiting Los Angeles Clippers on Sunday.
LeBron James scored 17 points with nine assists and rookie Dalton Knecht added 19 points off the bench for the Lakers, who extended their winning streak to six games while playing without starters Rui Hachimura (knee) and Austin Reaves (calf).
Doncic, who was acquired by the Lakers at the trade deadline, has scored at least 20 points four times in the past five games.
The Lakers won the season series 3-1 over the Clippers and have won six of the last eight games against their in-town rival after ending an 11-game losing streak against them. The Lakers are also 16-3 since Jan. 21.
Pelicans use big 4th-quarter run to rally past Jazz
(FLM) — Kelly Olynyk netted a season-high 26 points, one of four New Orleans players who scored at least 20 points as the Pelicans earned a 127-121 victory over the Utah Jazz in Salt Lake City on Sunday night.
Olynyk, a former Jazz player, hit 10 of 14 shots and finished with nine rebounds and four assists. C.J. McCollum drained five 3-pointers en route to 25 points and eight assists, while Zion Williamson scored 24 on 11-for-18 shooting to go along with nine assists and six boards.
Trey Murphy III added 20 points as New Orleans beat Utah for the third time this season.
The Pelicans, who led by as many as 18 points before momentarily falling behind, used a 15-0 run in the fourth quarter to regain the lead and ultimately pick up their fourth win in five games.
Keyonte George led Utah with 28 points off the bench, including five 3s, while Brice Sensabaugh added 21 points.
New Orleans opened the second half on an 8-0 run, including 3s from McCollum and Murphy, to go up 74-57.
Utah clawed back, eventually tying it at 91-91 by closing the quarter on a 13-3 run.
The Jazz took their first lead early in the fourth quarter on a Cody Williams 3-pointer and George, who scored 16 points in the fourth, pushed Utah’s lead to 100-94. The Jazz led 108-103 when the Pelicans went to work.
Immanuel Quickley helps Raptors edge past Magic
(FLM) — Immanuel Quickley scored a team-high 24 points, helping the visiting Toronto Raptors post a 104-102 victory over the Orlando Magic on Sunday.
RJ Barrett added 22 points, while Jakob Poeltl had 16 points and 11 rebounds, as the Raptors snapped a three-game losing streak. Jamal Shead chipped in 12 points off the bench, and Scottie Barnes scored 10.
Franz Wagner’s 25 points led Orlando, followed by Paolo Banchero’s 23 and Wendell Carter Jr.’s 14. Kentavious Caldwell-Pope scored 12 points for the Magic, who dropped their third in a row.
Orlando trailed 104-92 with less than three minutes left but scored the next 10 points and pulled within two with four seconds remaining. Wagner missed a potential game-tying layup on the final possession, as Toronto escaped with the win.
After leading by a point at halftime, Toronto’s cushion grew to 61-56 on Jonathan Mogbo’s dunk midway through the third quarter. Caldwell-Pope’s five straight points knotted the score at 61, before Shead’s three-point play gave the Raptors a 64-61 lead.
