Prosecutors have provided notice that Laa, if convicted as charged, may be subject to a mandatory prison term and not eligible for probation.

First-degree robbery is a Class A felony offense which carries a maximum penalty of 20 years imprisonment. Second-degree assault and habitual property crime are both Class C felony offenses which carry a maximum penalty of a five-year prison term.
