Quirina “Sherling” Cabar Balagot, 92, of Hilo died March 12 at Hilo Benioff Medical Center. Born in Urdaneta, Pangasinan, Philippines, she was a factory worker for Mauna Loa Macadamia Nut Co. and member of St. Joseph Catholic Church. Visitation 5-6 p.m. on Thursday, April 24, at Dodo Mortuary Chapel. Wake service at 6 p.m. Visitation again 8:30-9:30 a.m. Friday, April 25, at St. Joseph Catholic Church. Funeral Mass at 9:30 a.m. Burial to follow at Homelani Memorial Park, Lehua Section. Casual attire. Robert “Bob” Floyd Bean, 98, of Kailua-Kona died April 1 at home. Born in Salt Lake City, he was a retired state Department of Education liaison for West Hawaii, taught and was acting principal at Laupahoehoe High and Elementary School, vice principal at Honokaa High and Elementary School, principal for Ka‘u High, Pahala Elementary, and Hilo Intermediate schools, first principal for Waiakea High School and U.S. Navy World War II Pacific Theater veteran. Memorial service 10 a.m.-noon Monday, April 28, at The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints, 230 Kalani St. in Kailua-Kona. Burial 1 p.m. at Kona Memorial Park in Holualoa. Stephen Alexander Cusumano, 81, of Hilo, formerly of Waimea, Hawaii, and Kaneohe, Oahu), died Feb. 21 at Hilo Benioff Medical Center.
