Kamehameha-Hawaii boys volleyball made quick work of Connections for the second time in 2025 — routing the ‘Io in straight sets by scores of 25-13, 25-11 and 25-16. KSH won its fourth straight match, beginning to peak at the right time in the season.
The Warriors closed the regular season at an 11-3 record, and will await for the island playoffs — which begin Friday.
Jaydan Borling-Lewi and Tanoa Taititi combined for 23 kills to lead KSH, while teammate Jayson Nakata dished out an efficient 27 assists on 47 attempts (.574). The team also tallied 21 total digs and one block.
Connections failed to generate much offense, and it totaled just three team kills across the three sets. The ‘Io recorded 17 team digs and one team block. Connections ended the regular season at a winless 0-14.
HPA 3, Kohala 0
HPA boys volleyball got the best of Kohala for the second time this season, routing the Cowboys in straight sets on Tuesday inside Castle Gymnasium in Waimea.
Ka Makani opened the match with a dominant 25-5 first-set win, followed by 25-20 and 25-19 set wins over the final two frames.
Like KSH, HPA is also beginning to peak at the right time before island playoffs — winning the last five matches. The red and white will await the start of the postseason with an 8-4 record.
The Cowboys closed the regular season with a 1-9 record.
JV: HPA beats Honoka‘a 2-0 — 25-15, 25-10.
Waiakea 3, CLA 0
Waiakea boys volleyball ended its regular season slate by collecting its 10th win of 2025, sweeping Christian Liberty Academy in straight sets in Hilo town.
The Warriors won by scores of 25-23, 25-18 and 26-24. It was the second time this season that Waiakea swept CLA.
Now at 10-2, the Warriors await their first playoff matchup this weekend in BIIF DI.
The Canefire concluded their regular season at 2-11.
