Louis Poli Alani Sr., 90, of Kahauko, Hookena, died Sept. 12 at a private care home in Mountain View. Born in Kahauko, he was a wood carver for Blairs Ltd., construction company laborer, taro, coffee and fruit farmer, fisherman and member of Seventh-day Adventist Church. Visitation 8 a.m. Sunday, Oct. 22, at Seventh-day Adventist Church in Captain Cook. Funeral service at 10 a.m. Burial in Kalahiki Cemetery in Kealia. Casual attire. Flowers welcome. Survived by sons, Arley (Mary) Alani, Louis Poli Alani Jr. and Wyatt (Nancy Hose) Alani of Hookena; hanai son, Bruno Lenta of Maui; daughters, Kathleen (Bradley) Pai of Kahauko, Yolanda Matsuo-Alani of Kealakekua; hanai daughter, Donna Lee Krems of Maui; sister, Lucy (Donald) Oliveros of Captain Cook; numerous grandchildren, great-grandchildren, nieces, nephews and cousins.
