Petra Gorospe Fernandez, 77, of Ainaloa, Pahoa, died Monday, July 8, at Hilo Medical Center. Born in Darao San Juan, Ilocos Sur, Philippines, she was employed at the former Mauna Loa MacNut Corporation in Keaau and also at Puna Certified Nursery. She also was a member of the St. Joseph Catholic Church in Hilo. Friends may call Friday at Dodo Mortuary Chapel; Visitation from 5-9 p.m.; Wake service at 7 p.m. On Saturday, friends may call at the St. Joseph Catholic Church in Hilo; Visitation from 11 a.m.-noon; Celebration of Mass at noon. Oliverine Mapuana “Sista” Moore, 57, of Hilo died at the Hospice of Hilo Pohai Malama Facility on Wednesday, July 10. Born in Hilo, she was a food service worker with Kamehameha Schools. She was also a member of the Ainaola Ward of the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints. Friends may call at the Hilo Stake Center of the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter Day Saints on Friday from 10-11:30 a.m., where a funeral service will be held at noon, followed by burial at the Alae Cemetery.
