Fukuichi “Red” Higa, 96, of Mountain View died June 3 at Yukio Okutsu State Veterans Home in Hilo. The late Minako Nishino Tanimoto is survived by, among others, son Larry (Leslie) Tanimoto of Waikoloa. He is not the former mayor of Hawaii County of the same name, as was incorrectly stated in Wednesday’s edition. The Tribune-Herald regrets the error.
