Hazel Ayako Aoyagi, 91, of Captain Cook died Aug. 16 at Life Care Center of Kona. Born in Hilo, she was a retired bookkeeper for State Auto Parts and member of Kona Business Professional Women’s Club, Hiroshima Kenjin Kai, Kona Fukuoka Kenjin Kai, Kona Hongwanji, Keei Makai Kumiai and Keei Buddhist Church. Visitation 10-11 a.m. Saturday, Aug. 31 at Kona Hongwanji Mission in Kealakekua. Memorial service at 11 a.m. Casual attire; no flowers. Survived by daughters, Brenda (Earl) Matsuyama of Kealakekua and Sharon (Albert) Langsi of Honaunau; brother, Kazumi (Jane) Muraki of California; sister, Helena Muraki of Honolulu; five grandchildren and 10 great grandchildren; nieces, nephews and cousins. Dr. Julia Anne Rosekrans, M.D., 67, of Captain Cook died Aug. 17 at Kona Community Hospital. Born in Greene, N.Y., she was a retired pediatric emergency physician, former assistant professor of Mayo Medical School and consultant to Mayo Clinic Department of Pediatric Medicine, founding member of Unitarian Universalists of West Hawaii, member of Aloha Quilters, and was active in the study of Hawaiian language and culture studies as well as book design and DVD production for Na Wai Iwi Ola Foundation.
