As of Saturday morning, Hawaii Island was under a wind advisory with parts of West Hawaii placed under a high surf advisory.
The high wind watch will replace the wind advisory at 6 p.m. Saturday. It is expected to remain in effect through late Sunday.
The watch calls for wind speeds of 20 to 40 mph with localized gusts up to 60 mph.
As of Saturday morning, there were no reports of damage, according to Hawaii County Civil Defense.
According to the National Weather Service, the strongest wind speeds have been reported at Kohala Ranch (40 mph), Kona International Airport (36 mph) and Hilo International Airport (33 mph).
