Hilo Habitat for Humanity is seeking team photos of “Building Community Expo/Walk” participants for posting to its Facebook page. The event, which will be held Saturday from 10 a.m. to 1 p.m., at Prince Kuhio Plaza, supports affordable housing in East Hawaii. The expo/walk is sponsored by Hawaii Island Realtors, Hilo Habitat for Humanity and General Growth Properties.
Teams are encouraged to have fun styling and submitting their group photos. One option is to create the photos around what the concept of “home” means to each team, including favorite rooms, colors, activities, etc.
Teams should ask their walkers to register online at www.hilohabitat.org. There is a $10 registration fee, which also makes walkers eligible for prize drawings. At the expo, walkers can talk with home repair and maintenance specialists and collect rubber stamps for additional prizes of various values. Walkers may begin at any time between 10 a.m.-1 p.m. Drawings will be held at 2 p.m. and winners need not be present to win.
The event is expected to raise $5,000 for affordable housing. T-shirts will also be available on the day of the event for $10 each.
