The Hawaii Tribune-Herald and the Hawaii Island Chamber of Commerce presented a series of 60-minute Digital Workshops last week. More than 50 local businesses attended one of the four sessions, led by Stephens Media Digital Manager Tonya Wren.
Wren offered information to help businesses navigate the confusing world of digital information and advertising. Some of the statistics presented drew gasps to moans from the attendees, including the eye-opening fact that, while more than 4 billion people worldwide use mobile phones everyday, only 3.5 billion regularly use a toothbrush.
Workshop participants registered to win a Digital Starter Package from the Hawaii Tribune-Herald. Debbie Maiava, of Ken’s House of Pancakes and Ponds was drawn as the winner of a five-page website with unlimited hosting for a year.
Businesses unable to attend or those who might want a refresher can access a flipbook of the presentation on hawaiitribune-herald.com, (click on the Digital Workshop icon on the right hand rail) or find it at http://hilo.hawaiitribune-herald.com/files/special-sections/digitalmktg.
