The 26th annual St. Joseph Country Fair will be staged from 8 a.m. to 3 p.m. on Saturday, Oct. 12, at the St. Joseph High School grounds. The free event is open to the public.
This is the school’s main fundraising event. “This event has become a Big Island tradition. We are proud to offer this fun-filled day for the community to gather and enjoy. There’s a little something for everyone,” said a coordinator for the fair.
The merriment includes carnival-style games for kids of all ages, keiki train, jumping castle/water slide, laser tag, and lots more.
“As always, we have a great entertainment line-up! Our friends Bruddah Cuz will be joining us, along with Body & Soul, Old School, Dave Seawater Band, Kolea, Miss Kille and Prodi-G!”
The Country Fair will offer the usual favorite traditional foods, including hot malasadas, plate lunches, fresh baked goods.
The Mauna Kea Astronomy Community will be sharing hands-on displays. There will also be exhibits from the Hawaii County Fire Department, the Department of Agriculture and various participants from the Big Island local small business communtiy.
The fair will also include a big silent auction, handmade arts and crafts, plants and produce, pickles and preserves, and cinders donated by DeLuz Trucking and Gravel. Door prizes will be awarded hourly, with a grand prize drawing at 2:45 p.m. Call 935-4935 for information.
