A Hilo grand jury indicted a 42-year-old woman for allegedly disseminating a pornographic video to a teenager.
The single-court indictment returned Oct. 23 charges Ginny L.K. Moniz, also known as Ginny L.K. Santos, with promoting pornography for minors, a Class C felony punishable by up to five years imprisonment upon conviction.
A bench warrant was issued for Moniz’s arrest, with bail set at $4,000. She had not been taken into custody as of Wednesday.
According to the indictment, the offense allegedly took place on or about Nov. 20, 2017. The victim, who is identified only by initials, was born in 2002.
A check of Hawaii court records indicates nine criminal convictions for Moniz between 1997 and 2016 but no felonies. That includes four convictions for DUI, plus unlawful use of a driver’s license, theft, violating a protective order, inattention to driving and contempt of court.
