Gov. David Ige this afternoon announced the lifting of the mandatory 14-day quarantine on interisland travelers in Hawaii, effective June 16.
The quarantine for arrivals in Hawaii from out of state remains in effect until at least June 30. He said an announcement on that would be made next week with a potential target date.
Ige said the lifting of the quarantine will help Hawaii families to “reconnect.”
“Clearly, we have the lowest case count in the county,” Ige said, noting only a dozen positive cases were reported statewide in the past week.
