Police investigate Ocean View shooting

Police say a 41-year-old Ocean View man was found with a gunshot wound to the chest Monday morning on King Kamehameha Boulevard in Ocean View.

The man, whose identity wasn’t released by police, was treated on scene by medics who responded to an 8:30 a.m. call, then taken to Kona Community Hospital for additional treatment.

The incident is being investigated by Kona Criminal Investigation Section detectives as attempted second-degree murder.
