Police say a man wanted for questioning in an October non-fatal shooting of another man in Ocean View hanged himself in early November.
The death of 33-year-old Carlwin David, whose body was found Nov. 2 in the 92-8000 block of Leilani Parkway in Ocean View, was ruled a suicide, police said. An autopsy found the cause of death as asphyxiation by suicide.
David was wanted in connection with the early morning shooting Oct. 26 of a 41-year-old Ocean View man who was found on the roadway in the 92-8000 block of King Kamehameha Boulevard with a gunshot wound to the chest.
The shooting victim was taken to Kona Community Hospital and survived. Police have not publicly identified him.
