The Department of Hawaiian Home Lands opened a public comment period for beneficiaries on a draft legislative proposal to authorize a resort and casino on Hawaiian Home lands designated for commercial use in Kapolei, Oahu.
The department said in a statement it has conducted two virtual beneficiary consultation meetings this week. Beneficiary consultation materials, the draft legislative proposal and other related information can be found by visiting dhhl.hawaii.gov/government-relations/limited-gaming.
Tyler Gomes, DHHL deputy chairman, encouraged homesteaders and wait list applicants to submit comments on the proposal.
