Born in Hilo, he was a retired Hawaii County Police Department lieutenant, retired U.S. Army 1st lieutenant, member and extraordinary minister of St. Joseph Catholic Church and member of Ancient Order of Foresters Court Mauna Kea No. 8854, Y.M.I. and Knights of Columbus.
