An average of 706 cases have been reported daily Aug. 30-Sept. 5.
Hawaii County now has a 7.2% test positivity rate, the same as the state’s positivity rate.
According to data from the DOH, people 18-29 continue to account for the majority of coronavirus cases, making up 24% of all COVID-19 infections. Keiki 17 and younger account for 17% of all cases and adults 30-39 make up 19% of infections.
In the past 14 days, 408 infections have been reported in Hilo and 442 have been reported in Kailua-Kona.
During that same time period, 70 cases have been reported in Honokaa; 110 in Waimea; 72 in Kealakekua; 65 in the Captain Cook, Ocean View and Honaunau areas; 89 in Pahoa; and 140 in Keaau.
Another 756 cases were reported statewide on Monday, including 119 on the Big Island.
The DOH on Monday also reported two additional COVID-related deaths. A Big Island woman, 80-89, and an Oahu man, 60-69, had been hospitalized and had underlying health conditions.
COVID-19 testing is available today until noon at HPM Building Supply-Keaau, 16-16 Melekahiwa St., Keaau, and from 11 a.m. to 4 p.m .at the Kona Community Aquatic Center in Kailua-Kona.
