Elizabeth Margaret Frendo, 95, of Hilo died Feb. 9 at Hilo Medical Center. Born in Amesbury, Mass., she was a retired state Department of Health social worker, former Girl Scouts regional director, past worthy matron of the Order of the Eastern Star, past president of the Zonta Club of Hilo, past board member of the United Cerebral Palsy Assn. of Hawaii, member of the Hawaii Masonic Order, International Order of Rainbow for Girls, Daughters of the American Revolution, Hoike Club and the University Extension, and numerous other civic and cultural organizations, as well as a black belt with the Hilo Aikido Ki Club. Visitation 10-11 a.m. Saturday, March 1 at Hilo Coast Community Church in Honomu. Celebration of life service at 11 a.m. Casual attire; no flowers. Survived by sons, Stephen (Nadiline) Frendo of Kailua-Kona and Keith (Monica Meyer) Frendo of Keaau; sister, Gladys (Ebert) Smith of Sun City West, Ariz.; seven grandchildren and numerous great-grandchildren; nieces and nephews. Narako Kunimoto, 95, of Papaikou died Feb. 11 at Life Care Center of Hilo. Born in Onomea, she was a retired maintenance worker for I. Kitagawa &Co. and member of Papaikou Hongwanji Buddhist Temple, Kalaoa Kumiai, and Papaikou Senior Citizens Club. Services held. No flowers or koden (monetary gifts). Survived by sons, Calvin (Gloria) Kunimoto of Cerritos, Calif., Earl (Yvonne) Kunimoto of Hilo and Melvin (Diane) Kunimoto of Papaikou; daughter, Pearl (Sidney) Yanabu of Kailua-Kona; sisters, Shimako Kunishi of Papaikou and Kiyoko Okahara of Honolulu; eight grandchildren and nine great-grandchildren; nephews and nieces.
