Funding for a building for the University of Hawaii at Hilo’s College of Pharmacy and the Kona Judiciary Complex were among the projects included in the state budget the House passed last week.
The spending plan provides $40 million for the design, engineering and construction of the Kona judicial center. The College of Pharmacy would receive $33 million for its long-sought building.
House lawmakers also announced the budget included funding of $14.89 million for a specialty and support classroom at Waimea Middle School, $2.8 million for the Hilo Medical Center residency program, $4.9 million for lower Hamakua ditch improvements, and $1 million for 12 conservation and aquatic resources enforcement officers for Maui, the Big Island and Kauai.
The House’s $12.1 billion state budget will next be considered by the Senate.
