The 33rd Annual KTA Senior Golf Tournament will take place Saturday, June 24 at Hilo Municipal Golf Course.
The 18 hole stroke play tournament, which is administered by the Big Island Junior Golfers Association (BIJGA), began in 1988 and raises scholarship money for graduating BIJGA golfers.
Formerly called The Big Island Senior Golf Championship, this event was dedicated to Tony Taniguchi after his passing in 1989.
This event offers participants a lunch, up to $3,000 total KTA gift certificates, tee prizes and a chance to have their names listed on six perpetual bowls.
Last year’s winners include Naomi Kawazoe, Ray Coagdan, Agnes Yamauchi, Darryl Yagi, Irene Silva and Bruce Russell.
Registration costs $100, is due June 16 and is open to Big Island residents aged 50 years or older. The registration form and payment can be submitted to the Hilo Municipal Pro Shop or Mailed to the BIJGA at p.o. box 5180, Hilo, HI 96720.

Keaau High School is currently hiring for several coaching positions.
These include JV/varsity baseball, track and field, and cheer.

Two more Vulcans named to Academic All-District Team
Cross country runners Aurea Streadbeck and Sabina Boo-Rivera were named to the 2022-23 Academic All-District Team as selected and announced by College Sports Communicators Wednesday morning.
Streadbeck and Boo-Rivera joined six other Vulcans on the All-District team.
