New Mass Transit administrator named
Hawaii County has announced the appointment of Victor Kandle as the new Mass Transit Agency administrator.
Kandle “brings well-rounded and valuable expertise to his new role, including a wealth of knowledge and experience in program management, customer service and transit control,” according to a county press release.
Kandle previously worked in Portland, Ore., where he spent 20 years in leadership roles at TriMet, the city’s mass transit agency.
His official start date was June 16.
Kandle succeeds former Mass Transit Administrator John Andoh, who stepped down effective March 31 to transition to a similar role on the mainland.
